Nomad Digital Handheld X-Rays
The new and latest technology is the digital handheld Nomad x-ray, which is safer and does not require the dental assistant to leave the room. Digital x-ray technology uses a small electronic sensor placed in the mouth to capture an image, which can instantly be viewed on a computer screen.
Some parents have concerns about x-rays and whether their child is being exposed to too much radiation in the process. There is nothing more important to us than the health of our patients.
Scientific studies have shown that low-radiation digital x-rays, such as the Nomad handheld x-ray unit that we use, have 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays for our patients and employees.
Radiographs (x-rays) are recommended on average once a year for most children, and every six months for children with a high risk of tooth decay.
